BREAST SUPPORT FOR BREAST SUPPORT
Bust Support Product Donates to Breast Cancer Awareness

London, 28th June, 2010 – The company behind an innovative new breast support device is pledging £2 per sale of their pink-coloured version to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Kush, a device for side-sleeping women size C cup and above to help alleviate back and shoulder aches, is to donate £2 for every pink Kush purchased through its website (www.thekushcompany.com). This will be for the duration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which runs from 1st – 31st October, and is applicable to all sizes of the product.

Says Joanne Darbost, founder of The Kush Company:

"I believe the work of the National Breast Cancer Foundation on the promotion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is fantastic and I’m delighted to pledge our support this year with a donation from sales of our product. It’s a brilliant way for people to access a product that will help them whilst supporting a worthy cause."

The Kush device is simply placed comfortably between the breasts when side-sleeping to prevent the top breast from folding over, unsupported, and resting heavily on the underlying one – which can result in the top shoulder being pulled over, leading to aches in the shoulders and back. It is slip resistant and anatomically contoured. According to the Sleep Institute, around half of women are side sleepers and the average bra size in the UK is now a 34D. Kush was brought to the UK by business woman Joanne Darbost after it was developed in the U.S. and has been endorsed by plastic and reconstructive surgeon Peter L Tucker M.D. and top chiropractor Henry Rice, who recommends it to female patients to provide natural alignment and aid sleep.

Lynn Culver, editor of pinkwishes.co.uk, an online magazine which supports women affected by cancer and grants wishes to those who are ill, has found the Kush has helped her following breast cancer surgery. She says:

"I have had breast cancer surgery which left me with uneven sized breasts. Because of this, sleeping and resting on my side had become very uncomfortable. However, since discovering Kush I am now getting much more comfortable rests and sleep."

Kush is suitable both for women with natural breasts or breast implants and is also suitable for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. The Kush Company was approved for participation in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists You and Your Family pregnancy initiative, reaching 500,000+ pregnant women in the UK during 2010.

The Kush retails via the website (www.thekushcompany.com) and is available in three skin tones or four pastel colours in three sizes, small, medium and large. It costs £29.99 plus delivery. The donation of £2 will be made on every pink Kush sold at its full price, not in conjunction with any other offer or reduction.

Notes to editors
Kush is a unique product aimed at side sleeping women size C cup or above. It is for women (natural or enhanced) wanting breast support and comfort and to help prevent cleavage wrinkles caused by gravity and pressure including those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Kush is a firm support made from an extremely lightweight PET plastic, designed so that after 3 or 4 night’s use the wearer will not notice it is in place. It has a slip-resistant surface and the breast ‘envelopes’ the Kush, which tends to stay in place through most normal movement during sleep.

The Kush retail via the website at £29.99 plus delivery and are available in 3 sizes and 7 colour options.

The Kush Company has also recently been approved for participation in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists You and Your Family pregnancy Initiative. The Government-backed Initiative will ensure every pregnant woman in the UK from January 2010 will receive an A5 educational publication at the start of their second trimester of pregnancy. The RCOG expect that between 500,000 – 750,000 women will receive this and The Kush Company (Kush Support UK) will be included in the publication.
